In Aalborg Save the Children has a family club with room for 40 members. You can go on trips to the Farm Fun Park, the firestation etc. all including food is free.
UBAKA U RWANDA
The centre is run by Evode Usbyamahoro , who grew up a street child himself, and his wife Rebecca Ubaka U Rwanda is run by a loving couple, that have taken in streetchildren and help them, by providing a safe place to sleep, play and learn. They also try to get scholarships but rely on private donations and sponsorships.
Mother Teresa's Orphanage
Mother Teresa's Orphanage is right in the center of Kigali and there are many children, babies and elderly, who are dependant on their basic assistance.
Nyamirambo is one of the most densly populated areas in Rwanda. It is difficult for the small children, whose parents are at work or who have no parents to get by. Some of these children go to Abadacogora and play. The nuns also makes them one meal a day. If you go by, you are welcome to bring food, which they can always use, or money as the nuns usually get a good price on the market.
Ibis works with education and human rights in Latin America and Africa. It is operated from Denmark and receives most of its resources from the government. It is exceptionally good at cooperation with local NGOs abroad. Ibis works on - Delivery of professional development and, occasionally, emergency aid. - Sponsors education to teachers, promoting friendly engagement instead of strict discipline - Assisting local NGOs in setting up networks for minority groups where women, for instance, learn about their rights and where indigenous people are trained and equipped with cameras to be able to provide evidence of the extensive oil pollution in, for instance, Peruvian rivers.
CISEM Center for sexually abused and victims of incest (Center for incestramte & seksuelt misbrugte)
CISEM is a regional volunteer association. They offer counceling and advice for victioms of incest or other sexual abuse. Many of these victims cannot afford psychiatrists, which are often needed to get through years of trauma and get back to a better quality of life. It is important to talk about what has happened and it helps to be among others who has been through similar situations.
Better Psychiatry (Bedre Psykiatri)
This is an offer for all who know someone with a mental disorder. We help you so that you can help those close to you. We help by adding value to the difficult circumstances of those close to people with mental disorder, and by creating recognition for the work and the resouces that relatives provide. We also create local networks and disscussion groups for relatives and others. We are in tune with recognized treatment schools of thought and we particularly support the notion of recovery: We think it is possible to recover and that mental disorders are not chronic.
Active Dyslectics (Aktive Ordblinde)
Dyslexia is often something people hide, but many has it. You can get support, get to know others with dyslexia and get help to improve your reading ability. We do not offer education, but we cooperate with the speach institute and AOF. Purpose To promote understanding, so that as many as possible can get an understanding into the problems connected with dyslexia. And to provide assistance for those with dyslexia and helptem see; that there is a way forward.
A NEW BEGINNING RWANDA
Has a community center where they help widows and orphans. They also have a health post for the community and they aim to help the widows with income generating activities.
